How do you make an infusion with CBD flowers?

If you're looking for a simple and enjoyable way to experience the relaxing benefits of CBD, try an infusion made with CBD flowers. With just a few easy steps, you can prepare a tasty and effective drink. Here's how.

Step 1: Prepare the CBD flowers

The first step in making your infusion is to prepare your affordable CBD flowers to get the most from them. To do this, you need to decarboxylate them to activate the cannabinoids in the CBD flowers. This chemical reaction converts inactive cannabinoid acids into active compounds such as CBD, which the body can absorb.

    To decarboxylate your flowers:

    1. Preheat your oven to between 110°C and 130°C.
    2. Break up the flowers and spread them over a baking sheet.
    3. Bake for approximately 40 to 45 minutes, until the flowers are lightly golden and fragrant.

Once decarboxylated, grind the flowers into small pieces to help them infuse. This allows the active compounds to be extracted more effectively during infusion.

Step 2: Choose the ingredients and equipment

To make your infusion, you'll need the right ingredients:

    • CBD flowers: Use approximately 0.5 g to 1 g of decarboxylated flowers, depending on your preferred strength.
    • Water or milk: 250 ml of water or whole milk (plant-based or dairy) to prepare the infusion.
    • The fat : Add a fat such as butter, coconut oil, or milk so the CBD can dissolve properly. CBD is fat-soluble, which means it dissolves more easily in fat than in water.

You can also add honey, sugar, cinnamon, or vanilla to sweeten and flavor your infusion.

For equipment, you'll need a saucepan to heat the water, an infuser or tea ball to hold the flowers, and a strainer to filter the infusion.

    Step 3: Prepare and infuse

The traditional infusion method involves bringing the water to a boil in a saucepan. Then add the fat so the CBD can dissolve properly. Next, stir the ground flowers into the boiling liquid.

You can use an infuser or tea ball to hold the flowers and make straining easier. Reduce the heat and simmer over very low heat for 20 to 45 minutes. This helps prevent cannabinoid degradation and ensures optimal extraction. Then strain the mixture and remove the plant residue. Add your preferred flavourings or spices and enjoy your drink.

For a quicker preparation method, bring the water to the boil, remove it from the heat, then add the flowers directly to an infuser or filter. Leave to infuse for 5 to 10 minutes before drinking. There are several ways to use CBD flower, depending on your preferences and the effects you are looking for.

Tips for Getting the Most from Your Infusion

The effects of the infusion can take up to two hours to appear and last approximately eight hours. To avoid taking too much, follow the dosage recommendations and enjoy the benefits safely.

You can try delicious variations by adding plant-based milk, such as almond or oat milk. Chamomile and lavender pair particularly well with CBD and can enhance its relaxing effects.

Take care when choosing high-quality CBD flowers. Ideally, opt for organically grown, pesticide-free products to ensure the purity of your infusion.
